ESE:O is a non-profit organization based in Santiago, Chile, that works in research and capacity building through writing and online environments.
ESE:O is dedicated to achieving social change and strengthening civil society in the global South throughdemocratic literacy .
ESE:O develops research-action projects and focuses on capacity building in under-represented groups including women, children and youth, native people, activists and researchers in human rights and sexual and reproductive health and rights, and artists.
ESE:O views written culture, the arts and memory as playing key roles in the development of democracy and respect for human rights. ESE:O believes that giving visibility and legitimization to under-represented groups is essential for building fully democratic societies.
For ESE:O, capacity building , democratic literacy , social communications and technological skills are powerful instruments for achieving social justice.
ESE:O’s mission is to build capacity in democratic literacy in the global South by promoting the production and dissemination of local knowledge based on international standards, including accountability.
ESE:O has developed a methodology which combines Collaborative writing , knowledge translation (Link to experience), Teaching and writing tools and information technologies.
