ESE:O is planning a new academic writing workshop for the 7th cohort of CARTA fellows, to be inaugurated in March 2017 at the University of Makarere, Kampala, Uganda.
CARTA is the flagship research-training initiative of the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), based in Nairobi, Kenya. ESE:O has run writing workshops for first year CARTA grantees since 2011, specializing in the skills needed to write a high quality literature review as part of their PhD program.
Soledad Falabella will begin the 2017 course with face-to face-workshops at CARTA’s Joint Advanced Seminar 1, hosted this year by Makerere University in Uganda.
To date, through its partnership with CARTA, ESE:O has helped 125 African researchers in population, public health sexuality and reproductive rights build their writing capacities and transmit these skills to their own students.
