ESE:O’s mission is to build capacity in democratic literacy in the global South by promoting the production and dissemination of local knowledge according to international standards.
Capacity building for the writing and publication of academic articles in peer-reviewed international journals among junior scholars and teachers.
ESE:O develops new approaches to teaching and learning through capacity building in “democratic literacy” and Literacy for Life.
Democratic literacy is about the capacity to be heard, seen and recognized with respect as a legitimate human being and dignified member of society.
ESE:O works with historically excluded communities in order to find ways to strengthen diversity in the public sphere.
