Professor Soledad Falabella attended the “14th International Congress of the Association of Researchers in Genetic Criticism” (Associação dos Pesquisadores em Crítica Genética , APCG) in Curitiba, Brazil from October 1-3. This congress identifies writing as a tool for social change. Prof. Falabella gave the inaugural speech on “Latin American Manuscripts,” and also held a workshop course on “Gender and the valuation of women writers’ manuscripts: women’s entrance into public life, the constitution of archives and the national heritage.” A key objective of these activities was to carry out an historically critical analysis of the problematic relationship between women, writing, knowledge, and power.
