Socioanthropological perspectives of education
The Interdisciplinary Center for Latin American Studies and the Department of Education of the University of La Serena, commemorate this year 2019 the 130th anniversary of the birth of Gabriela Mistral. One of the most iconic creative women of our country, the first Latin American woman to receive a Nobel Prize for literature, and one of the great cultural ambassadors we have had in our country.
These series of conferences were organized with the intention that the educational community of the University of La Serena can meet Gabriela Mistral in depth and in all her facets, as she is someone who always dared to be at the forefront without being stopped by the prejudices and violence exerted on women of her time. The series were scheduled for the first semester of 2019, and the first event was hosted by Professor Soledad Falabella, an outstanding scholar of the work of Gabriela Mistral, who prepared her talk to generate a dialogue with the public.
